Dr. John Mwesigwa Mugisa, PhD., DRC
Dr. John M.Mugisa born Congolese, residing permanently in South Africa, but now temporally in Senegal, holds a PhD in Conflict Resolution and Peace and Security Studies from the University of KwaZulu Natal, in South Africa. Besides, he is a trained African Civilian in Peacebuilding and Good Governance at the Centre for International Affairs (LECIA-University in Ghana) and the Kofi Annan Centre for Peacekeeping Training (KACPT), in Accra, in Ghana-and also trained as a Human Rights defender by various institutions.
His main area of interest focuses on building Peace and Human Security in war-torn zones where serious and massive human rights abuses and violence have been caused to innocent civilians and the displacement of thousands of people fleeing from atrocities, massive rape and forced children to join combatant ranks.
He worked for the Foundation for Human Rights, in Johannesburg, in South Africa, in a programme called “Access to Justice and Promotion of Constitutional Rights” for Vulnerable (Asylum seekers, Refugees, and Unaccompanied Migrants).
His engagements as Human Rights defender/activist dates way back in the early 1990s as a student-which consisted of updating information from the field regarding Human Rights abuses by government, collect and analyze Human Rights indicators especially with vulnerable groups in Bukavu, in the Kivu province in the Eastern of the DRC, collect information on human rights abuse against women and children, assist in the design and implementation of human rights programmes, advocate and alert the then government of Kinshasa and civil society organizations as well as international organizations to play a more active role in the promotion and respect for the rights of vulnerable and more importantly the need for more effective prevention of women and children abuse and violence.
Pastor Nelly Kangwa, ZAMBIA
Organization: Prophetic Word to Liberty, Zambia
Pastor Nelly Kangwa is the Founder and Senior Pastor of Liberty in Christ Ministries with three branches in her country of origin, Zambia. She launched as well the Prophetic Word to Liberty in 2012, in South Africa.
Her career background was focused in the medical field. As a daughter of an anointed Baptist pastor, who no doubt gave her a solid spiritual foundation, it becomes more evident that Pastor Nelly was armed with a prophetic gift!
Pastor Nelly –K, as she is fondly known, has a Degree in Theology from Global University, Chicago, USA. She added onto this qualification on a personal level her distinct and unique ability to understand biblical reference books with ease, which earned her nickname “The Concordance”’. The natural ability to flow in the area, created as demand for her as an International Conference Speaker.
She has an inclination to raising Leaders of Integrity hence pursuing Masters in Business Leadership at University of South Africa (UNISA). She was very instrumental at our 2013 Maputo International Conference on Peace in Africa, under the Patronage of the former Mozambican President, His Excellency Joaquim Alberto Chissano, in unlocking the secret of Zambia, being an African free-wars country.
Rev. Jean-Medard Beya Muntu, DRC
Organization: Centre for Christ`s Ambassadors,
Rev Jean-Medard Beya Muntu is the Senior Pastor and Founder of the Centre for Christ’s Ambassadors, a very powerful ministry and Director at Mission Exposure and Training(MET), in South Africa.
Best organizer and teacher of the word of God, Pastor Beya has been involved in many different churches planting since his country of origin, the Democratic Republic of the Congo-DRC, and then Zaire.
At that time, he was one of the managers at the mining company, Gecamines. He has a great vision of impacting the Leaders of African churches, organizations, and institutions with the holistic power of the gospel of liberating Soul- Spirit and Body. Rev Beya has been selected as one of the Guest Speakers at our 2011 Johannesburg International Conference on Peace in Africa, during the celebration of the 10th Anniversary of Christians for Peace in Africa.
Pastor Curl Stauffer, USA
Organisation: Centre for Justice and Peacebuilding (CJP), USA
Pastor Stauffer was born and raised in Vietnam (Southeast Asia), during a time of fierce conflict and war. In 1975, he along with his parents fled Vietnam and moved to the Philippines to serve the church there. Carl’s professional study and experience are in social work(BA), theology and Conflict Transformation(MA). After one year of short-term missions work in Sicily, Italy and the Caribbean Islands in 1987.
Pastor Stauffer and his wife Carolyn were called into an inter-racial urban church –planting venture in Richmond, Virginia, USA. In 1988, Stauffer was ordained into ministry and pastured for 6 years under the mentorship of two African-American Pastors.
In 1994, Stauffer and his family moved to South Africa to live and work in peace and reconciliation ministries. Carl’s wife of 23 years, Carolyn has a vibrant teaching ministry and works in the HIV/AIDS arena. Carl has two teenage children: Chris and Grace.
Carl and his wife Carolyn have served on the Pastoral team of His People Christian Church, in Parktown, Johannesburg, South Africa during their last months. Stauffer was privileged to work at promoting healing through the South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
Since 2000, Stauffer has also functioned as Regional coordinator of the Peace and Reconciliation work of the Mennonite Central Committee, overseeing initiatives in the 8 countries of the Southern Africa region.
Stauffer’s ministry in Africa has included work amongst refugee populations, peacebuilding interventions in government and civil society and conflict transformations and education.
Stauffer’s preaching and teaching ministry have taken him to 20 African countries including Guinea-Conakry, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Kenya, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique, Swaziland, Lesotho, Botswana, Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda, DRC and Angola.
Christians for Peace in Africa has selected Pastor Carl as one of its International Advisors in 2008, for his outstanding realizations and commitment to Peace in Africa, through the REGIONAL PEACE NETWORK.
He has been very instrumental in the success of the 2009 Johannesburg International Conference on Peace in Africa. Pastor Carl moved back with his family to the USA where he teaches at Centre for Justice and Peace Building as Assistant Professor of Justice and Development Studies.
Mrs. Phylia Pantshwa, RSA
Organization: Khanya Africa Development Services, RSA.
Mrs. Phylia Pantshwa is the Founder and Director of Khanya Africa Development, an organization she has founded in 2004 after serving with leadership and passion The King-Luthuli Transformation Centre (KLTC), where she was Manager of Training for years.
Mrs. Phylia is a great trainer and motivational speaker who work closely with many different official institutions in South Africa in connection with different international organizations. She plays an important role in assisting many Non Profit Organizations to be registered with the Department of Social Development.
She empowers many South African women and youth, since the inception of Khanya Africa Development Services. Mrs. Phylia has been very instrumental in connecting Christians for Peace in Africa with many South African public and private organizations.
Mr. Emmanuel Z.Kopwe, TANZANIA
Deputy Chairperson of the Board of International Advisors
Organization: World Initiatives for Peace Education and Reconciliation (WIPER), Tanzania
Emmanuel Z. Kopwe was born in 1949 in Tanzania. He holds an M.Sc.Engineer from Aalborg University Center, in Denmark, and holds also a Diploma in Christian Studies, Regent College, in Vancouver, in Canada. He served as Lecturer at the Dar-es-Salaam Technical College.
He also served for many years with African Evangelical Enterprise as Tanzania Team Leader, East African Regional Coordinator, Pan African Executive Director Reconciliation Ministries until September 2011. Now he is the CEO & Founder of World Initiatives for Peace Education and Reconciliation; also Lecturer with Leadership and Management Training Institute, Arusha-Tanzania. He has presented many papers on Peace, Reconciliation, and Conflict Resolution.
Currently, Mr. Kopwe is a Doctor of Ministry Student at Africa International University, Nairobi-Kenya. He is a member of many organizations. He was selected as one of International Advisors in 2012 and African Peacemaker. He is married for many years to Angie Kopwe and has many children and grandchildren.
Peter Cox, GREAT BRITAIN

Pastor Peter has served faithfully at Christian Family Church in Johannesburg South Africa for over 20 years. As Chief Operations Officer, in being responsible for the smooth running of the organization under the leadership of Drs Theo and Beverly Wolmarans.
From the perspective of a Pastor’s heart, Pastor Peters’ ministry provides, with humor and sincerity, encouragement and motivation. Pastor Peter is a highly effective communicator and is involved in building up the body of Christ both nationally and internationally.
Back in Great Britain, his country of origin, Pastor Peter, with his lovely wife Pastor Anel Cox, has started a very successful ministry. Under his leadership of the Passion Driven Ministries at Christian Family Church-Johannesburg, Rev Thomas-Rene & Margo Kitutu started Christians for Peace in Africa and were much supported by his outstanding Leadership. Pastor Cox played an important role in our historical and prophetical ordination on the 17th February 2007 as Ministers of God.
He was also one of the Guest Speakers at our first 2009 Johannesburg International Conference on Peace in Africa and was honored with the Dr Michael Cassidy Peace Award in 2009, after receiving the Award of Peace as African Peacemaker in 2007 for his outstanding Leadership in teaching the word of God with authority and simplicity able to transform lives.
